BOBs & GHBs
BOBs - Bug Out Bags:
Are essentially the bag (rucksack, bergen etc) that you would carry the following items in. It's purpose is to provide you with enough resources to last you 72 hrs in the event that you have to "bug out."
Water - And the ability to make unsafe water drinkable
Food - Enough to sustain you for at least 72hrs or more Multi-vitamins Shelter - Bivvy or tent Sleeping bag Sleeping mat Fire lighting equipment - lighter, matches, flint & steel Reliable knife Multi-tool First Aid Kit and Meds Toilet paper Personal hygiene items Spare clothes Mess tins Stove Torch - Spare Batts Radio - Spare Batts Note book and pencil Map(s) Compass Whistle Cordage Sewing Kit
GHBs - Get Home Bags:
Are usually smaller than BOBs, (daysack, breifcase, satchel etc) and contain items that will assist you in getting home in the event of an emergency.
1L of water Multi-tool Lighter Snacks - Granola bars, Kendal Mint Cake, Dextrose Tablets etc First Aid Kit Sturdy walking shoes or boots Map(s) Compass Small radio to hear news updates etc Torch and spare batts Note book & pen Light Sticks Whistle Baby wipes Face Mask Gloves Waterproof Jacket & Trousers Spare cash - notes and coins Mobile phone
These lists are not exhaustive and will of course be modified to suit your own requirements.
